This Norfolk Southern train carries grain at Decatur, Illinois.  Like a lot of cities throughout the Midwest, Decatur is a crossroads of several railroads and is served by Norfolk Southern, CSX and Canadian National.

CSX SD70MAC #700, "Spirit of Cumberland"

Recently, I drew CSX SD70MAC #700, "Spirit of Cumberland," for a friend.  I have always enjoyed visiting Cumberland, Maryland on the CSX.  Whenever my travels take me through the area, if possible, I make a point to stop, have lunch, and see if I can see a CSX train or two.

 

CSX Stealth Gray SD60 8708 by Andy Fletcher

I drew CSX SD60 8708 in the Stealth Gray paint scheme as I began adding to my collection of CSX locomotives in the 1990s.  The new CSX YN2 paint scheme on the C40-8W was very popular at the time at train shows I went to.  As we look back, however, the CSX Stealth paint scheme has grown greatly in popularity from the era of railroading in the 1990s.

A Chessie System Train Heads From Cumberland to Pittsburgh

A pair of GP9s pulls a Chessie System general merchandise train from Cumberland to Pittsburgh.  Today's train has several carloads of float glass manufactured by PPG in Cumberland.  These cars are ultimately bound for Detroit.  Chessie System is part of today's +CSX

CSX Works With ASLRRA to Serve Agriculture

A +CSX  train carries feed grain at Nashville, Tennessee.  CSX supports agriculture by carrying grain for export and by carrying feed grains to feed mills across its system.  CSX works closely with ASLRRA member short line railroads to connect with a vast network of agriculture customers beyond its system.
