Santa Fe's Super Chief passenger train was known as the "Train of Stars." The Super Chief ran between Los Angeles and Chicago and was the train of choice for movie stars who traveled this route in the Golden Era of the passenger train. Many Santa Fe passengers would ride the Super Chief to see if they could get a glimpse of Humphrey Bogart, Clark Cable or Lauren Bacall.

Railroads of Denver by Andy Fletcher
Denver plays an important role as a railroad city. Its location made it an important gateway to the crossing of the Rocky Mountains to the west.
The Rio Grande connected Denver to Salt Lake City, while railroads such as the Chicago Burlington and Quincy and Rock Island connected Denver to Chicago. Santa Fe continued to the southwest to Los Angeles. Union Pacific, in the years before its acquisition of the Rio Grande and then the Southern Pacific as well as the Chicago and North Western, connected Denver to Omaha. Chicago, Burlington and Quincy would become part of Burlington Northern, which would ultimately merge with Santa Fe to form BNSF.

The Santa Fe Superfleet
The partnership of Santa Fe Railway and JB Hunt revolutionized intermodal and railroading itself. To celebrate this partnership, Santa Fe's new Superfleet locomotives pulled the trains that made intermodal history. The Superfleet was inspired by the classic locomotives of Santa Fe's passenger era.
