This Santa Fe GP9 leads a freight train from Kansas City to Los Angeles. Today's train carries a long section of intermodal trailers. Santa Fe's route was a direct link from the Midwest to the West Coast. Santa Fe was known for its slogan "Ship and Travel Santa Fe All the Way." Santa Fe is part of today's BNSF.
