The Great Northern Empire Builder Departs The Twin Cities For Seattle

The Great Northern Empire Builder departs the Twin Cities on its trek across the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains and onto its destination of the Pacific Northwest in Seattle.  The Empire Builder was named for Great Northern founder James J. Hill.  Today's Amtrak Chicago to Seattle Empire Builder service is the ancestor of this train.
