Great Northern Locomotives at Havre, Montana

These Great Northern locomotives await their assignments at Havre, Montana.  It is grain season, and heavy freight trains head west across the Rockies at Marias Pass behind the Big Sky Blue locomotives of Great Northern.  The SW1500 switcher builds a train in the yard, constantly at work at this busy Great Northern terminal.  The community of Havre, its locomotive shop and yard helped develop the Great Northern and have been significant to Great Northern successor, Burlington Northern and to today's BNSF.
